Ofsted rates us ‘Good’ in all areas!

Following a two-day inspection last month - which was our first in 10 years! - Ofsted praised our school for its vibrant and inclusive atmosphere, where pupils thrive on learning.

The report highlighted how our wonderful pupils take immense pride in their school, benefiting from strong relationships with staff and feeling well-supported in all aspects of their education.

The report read: “Around school, pupils are confident. They are celebrated as individuals who are free to express their unique personalities. The atmosphere is one of happiness, inclusivity and vibrancy.

“Pupils are polite and considerate of others. They are respectful of each other’s opinions and beliefs.”

Behaviour was also celebrated within the report noting: “Staff have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour. Pupils know and follow the school rules, conducting themselves maturely and sensibly.”

We were also recognised for offering a “clear and ambitious curriculum” which ensures our pupils develop a secure body of knowledge. Our incredible teaching staff were also praised for actively checking pupils’ understanding and adapting lessons to meet their needs.

Beyond the classroom, Ofsted noted the “broad range of opportunities to enhance personal development” to help our  pupils “have high aspirations for their future.”

Our dedication to meeting the needs of pupils with SEND was also reported, acknowledging that we ensure pupils receive compassionate and purposeful support.

“The report truly reflects the dedication, passion and hard work that make our academy such a special place.

“At Co-op Academy New Islington, we strive to create a nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can thrive, and it’s wonderful to see this recognised. A huge thank you to our staff, families, and, most importantly, our amazing students!”
